Human Spirituality and Who God Is to be Explored at Lifetree Cafe.

Exclusive footage from the Lionsgate film The Shack, released Mar 3rd, and a filmed interview with the author will be used to spark national conversations about personal spirituality and who God is during two individual conversational events that will be held at various times and locations in Jacksonville, FL March, 2017.

The Movie, based on the New York Times best-selling novel, The Shack takes us on a father’s uplifting spiritual journey. After suffering a family tragedy, Mack Phillips [Sam Worthington] spirals into a deep depression causing him to question his innermost beliefs. Facing a crisis of faith, he receives a mysterious letter urging him to an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Despite his doubts, Mack journeys to the shack and encounters an enigmatic trio of strangers led by a woman named Papa [Octavia Spencer]. Through this meeting, Mack finds important truths that will transform his understanding of his tragedy and change his life forever. Recent surveys show that 90 percent of Americans say they believe in God, but there is little consensus as to how God interacts with humanity. At the Lifetree Cafe event titled “Meeting God Face To Face”, Lifetree Cafe participants will view exclusive clips from the movie “The Shack” to stimulate thought and have an opportunity to discuss their views of God and how those views impact their lives over time.

religious, and the trend is

growing. William P Young's best selling book, The Shack, prompted a national conversation about the difference between spirituality and religion. “I make a distinction between the church as an organization, and the church as people” says Young. “Biblically speaking, The church is people. It's only people. They don't have the buildings, the structures, the platforms. It's simply people” The Lifetree event, titled “Spiritual But Not Religious”, offers

participants the opportunity to explore this issue.
